Built by Brian Pope & Tommy Findlay

Assess Your Stress is a clinically informed self-assessment tool, not a diagnostic service. If you are in crisis or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please contact Samaritans (116 123), NHS 111, or your local emergency services immediately.

We believe stress should be measured, not guessed

Assess Your Stress was born from a simple observation: the people who most need to understand their stress levels are the least likely to seek help. They won't book a GP appointment. They won't search for a therapist. They won't download a wellbeing app.

But if you put a clinically validated assessment in the places they already are, their hairdresser, their workplace, their community centre, they'll take 10 minutes to find out where they stand.

We combine clinical expertise with modern technology to make stress assessment accessible, actionable, and stigma-free. Our platform serves individuals, employers, and healthcare services with the same core mission: turning invisible pressure into actionable insight.

Brian Pope, Founder & Clinical Lead at Assess Your Stress

Brian Pope

Founder & Clinical Lead

MSc Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy | BABCP Accredited | HeartMath Certified Practitioner

Brian is a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience helping people overcome stress, trauma, and emotional challenges. As founder of LincsTherapy Ltd, he has built a modern psychological service offering both online and face-to-face therapy across the Humber region.

Brian holds an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from the University of Derby, where his research explored the intersection of heart rate variability and mental health. He is one of a small number of practitioners in the UK to hold dual accreditation as a BABCP psychotherapist and a HeartMath Certified Practitioner, a combination that gives him unique expertise in both the psychological and physiological dimensions of stress.

His clinical work spans single-issue and complex cases, with particular expertise in trauma, PTSD, and occupational stress. He has worked with solicitors, courts, occupational health departments, and organisations dealing with workplace stress at scale.

Brian is the developer of the Stress Continuum model and the 60-item assessment framework that powers Assess Your Stress. His approach is grounded in the belief that understanding the relationship between the heart and the mind, the objective and the subjective, is the key to effective stress management.

He is also an author and speaker. His published work, Upward Spirals of the Heart, explores the relationship between cardiac function and psychological wellbeing through the lens of Polyvagal Theory. He is currently writing his third book on the impact of stress on the nervous system.

How we work

Clinical integrity first

Every feature, every metric, every recommendation is grounded in evidence-based clinical practice. We don't cut corners on the science.

Privacy by architecture

We don't just promise data privacy, we enforce it through system design. Individual data is protected by architectural constraints, not just policies.

Accessible by design

We believe everyone deserves access to understanding their stress levels. That's why our core assessment is free, our community deployments are stigma-free, and our platform works on any device.
